The word, maybe more fitting than Village, would be homestead.

hey FL! I tend to agree, but didn't really like the sound of it. This stuff has got to resonate. And, as written, this is ultimately about integrating into a larger ecosystem, which would be The Village : ) Thank you for reading and participating -- see you soon?

Indeed the image of calm and slow life in the village, close to nature, in my case also mountains very often comes to my mind. And I am acutally going to make it come true within a couple of years. However I am not that sure about working in the fields, I've personally know people living from the land and it is very far away from an easy path... I love the image of the well!

Hey Aga, my dear. Love to see you here.

I agree, that we might not want to romanticize this type of work and life too lightly. Many of those who grew up on the land are happy to join the relative ease and accessibility of the city.

Really (not metaphorically) working the field must be incredibly hard. Respect and reverence needed when engaging with this! I can only imagine tending to my own vegetable garden, homestead style, not true large scale field work.

As you will see in my next article on this, I mostly consider the field as a metaphor for the work that I do that I consider serious and important, compared to the more fun and experimental work of the garden.
